Joseph M. Sembrot
Joseph Sembrot has been a trial lawyer since 1994, and has extensive experience in criminal defense and personal injury litigation.
Mr. Sembrot has represented clients charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses in both state and federal court; and has obtained acquittals for clients charged with assault, DUI, and drug offenses. He has drafted and argued numerous appeals before the Supreme and Superior Courts of Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Mr. Sembrot’s personal injury practice is focused upon helping clients who have been injured through other people’s fault. He has handled cases involving automobile accidents, work place injuries, and slip and fall accidents.
He also serves as Solicitor for the Derry Township Municipal Authority and Cumberland County Recycling and Water Authority. His municipal law practice consists of advising Board members at meetings, drafting and reviewing contracts and ordinances, and debt collection and enforcement.
He served as a Senior Deputy District Attorney for Dauphin County, and subsequently as a Deputy Attorney General for the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.
He previously practiced with a large, regional law firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he handled complex civil litigation.
Mr. Sembrot graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 and obtained his J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law in 1994 where he was a member of the Law Review.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, and before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and U.S. District Courts of Pennsylvania.
He is a member of the PA Bar Association, Dauphin County Bar Association and PA Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
